Grindworks Forged Tungsten Wedge The grindworks Forged Tungsten Wedge is forged from S20C carbon steel for that soft impact feel and extra bite on the ball. While many wedges on the market today and most classic wedges are designed with most of the weight towards the sole, our design features what we call a Hollow Gravity Chamber, where the back face of the wedge has been hollowed out to help move the center of gravity higher in the wedge. We also designed the wedge with a thicker top blade section with tungsten weight forged into the head (making the weights invisible). This also helps bring CG higher in the head. We tapered off the top line in order to keep it pleasant looking at address. Wedges with lower CG in their design are not as stable at attacking the pin due to a higher trajectory which is also affected by the wind.
